Management of the Menopause Certificate
The BMS Management of the Menopause Certificate is a complete online education package that enables HCPs to develop the confidence needed to deal with 95% of patients who walk through their door, leaving only the 5% of complex cases to be referred for specialist menopause care.

Overview
The Management of the Menopause Certificate comprises six interactive learning modules:
- Assessment of women presenting with menopausal symptoms
- HRT practical prescribing
- Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI)
- Menopause and HRT – health effects, benefits and risks
- Breast cancer
- Abnormal bleeding in perimenopause and postmenopause and unscheduled bleeding on HRT
Interactive webinars will provide an opportunity to ask questions and clarify learning. Learners will be able to register and pay for these optional sessions separately, once they have commenced the e-Learning.
How long will it take to complete?
There is approximately 38 hours of learning across the six modules. Learners will have 12 months from the date of purchase to complete all the learning at their own pace.
How is the Certificate assessed?
Formal knowledge assessment will take the form of multiple-choice questions at the end of each module. Learners must achieve a pass mark of 80% in the knowledge assessment for each module.
Who can register?
Registration is open to HCPs (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, physician associates and paramedics only) practicing in the UK or Ireland.
How much does the Certificate cost?
There is a fee of £875 to register for the Management of the Menopause Certificate.
A preferential registration fee of £350 is offered to learners who have completed a BMS PPMC course or the RCOG/BMS Post Reproductive Health meeting up to the end of 2023, to reflect an overlap in content and education already received.
If you have completed a BMS PPMC course (to end of 2023) or the RCOG/BMS Post Reproductive Health meeting (to 1 June 2024), please email your CPD certificate to ppmcsupport@bms-whc.org.uk. Once we have confirmed your completion of a recognised course, you will be sent a unique, single use discount coupon.
What does the Certificate offer HCP learners?
The BMS Management of the Menopause Certificate is a BMS qualification. Learners will be issued with a certificate confirming that they have been provided with the knowledge to deliver BMS gold-standard, evidence-based menopause care. The certificate will list each of the modules and the learning objectives, to demonstrate the in-depth, comprehensive nature of the education.
Please note: Completion of the e-Learning leads to a BMS qualification and CPD points/hours are not offered.
System requirements
The Management of the Menopause Certificate e-Learning is delivered via the BMS learning management system. Learners are responsible for ensuring that the device they use to access the education meets the system requirements.
